I am quite simply in lust with my new Canon EOS 350D even though of now it has just the EF-S 18-55 mm lens.

I've never thought that I'm pretty. All my life I've been told that I'm not pretty and I have come to accept that. Which is why, until now I rarely did self portraits. But then I realised that in order to do interesting self portraits I don't need to be a skinnyprettyshiny15yearoldthing with twee emo poses. I don't do twee. At least, I think I don't do twee. Photography interests me because I am fascinated by light, light and shapes and movement and I try my best to capture all of those in my photographs with the equipment that I have (which is infact a phone camera with a busted autofocus.)Which is why my photographs often don't have a specific subject (and which is also why I generally don't photograph people). So why am I posting up this particular series of self portraits? Because I feel that these are the only self portraits I've done which encapsulate the two things that interest me about photographs - light and movement. And because I now know that I might not have a pretty face but it doesn't matter anymore. Because my face is interesting and interesting is always better than anything else.
